Why Do I Have To Pay Dues and Social Fees?

The Academy Spouses' Club is both a Social Club and a non-profit organization. However, the Social Club aspect of ASC is what enables our non-profit organization to run smoothly.

When you join ASC, you're joining the Social Club. The $25 (for spouses of E1-E4) or $45 (for spouses of E5 and above, retirees, DoD civilians, National Guard and Reserves) it costs to become an ASC member are the funds that allow ASC to operate.

All the flyers you see announcing our events? Paid for by membership dues!

The celebration to honor our Scholarship recipients? Paid for by membership dues!

Upkeep on the Community Room inside the ASC Thrift Shop? Paid for by membership dues!

The one thing your membership dues don't cover: Our monthly socials. As a Social Club, the biggest part of our budget is our monthly socials. However, because our membership is so diverse in interest and availability, our Social Committee works hard to make our monthly socials as diverse as our membership. Our socials not only change location monthly, but also change theme. To keep our socials entertaining to our membership, we have to price each social individually.

Luckily anyone can attend one ASC social before becoming a member! Our monthly socials are held the third Thursday of every month beginning at 6pm.

Can't make a social? Members also have access to our mini-clubs and many of those meet during the day!

Also, only members can be members of the ASC Board. If you want to support our non-profit mission, membership is the easiest way to make sure our Thrift Shop and Scholarship programs continue operating into the future!
